Displayed are early and present industries of Tyler County.

Tyler County was a big oil booming area in the later part of the 1800's and the early part of the 1900's .

 


 
"Big Moses," the world's greatest gas well, was drilled here in 1894.
"Big Moses" produced as much as 100 million cubic feet of gas per day.
